Originally from Derbyshire, England, Founder, Tina Jesson is from a family of 5 generations of home cooks and bakers and uses many family recipes. She is a sought-after speaker and author of Tina's Traditional Book of Scones.Tina has created welcoming environments truly reminiscent of a traditional vintage English tea room by day and Tavern by night. One in the heart of the Carmel Arts District, on the North Side of Indianapolis, IN with a second location now on the West Side on the square in the historic town of Danville.
When you walk through the doors of these beautiful historic buildings, dating back to the 1880s, you'll be captivated by the décor and warm welcome which will make Tina's Traditional your new favorite place even before you take your seat.
The aroma coming from the open kitchen is alluring. Here you can see the chefs and craft bakers busy as work, creating traditional pastries, scones and cakes which are continually coming out of the oven.
Fresh herbs are used for from-scratch soups made daily, and free range local chickens are freshly roasted to make Tina's Traditional Coronation Chicken Salad – a recipe dating back to the time of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Try one of Tina's Traditional house-made jams from Tina's Grandmother's recipes collection and even take a packet of loose leaf tea and jar of jam home with you so you have a fond memory of your day.
