Come fly with us on a ring-a-ding ride through the Great American Songbook at the 2017 Songbook Celebration presented by Krieg DeVault. All proceeds from the September 30 gala benefit the artistic and educational programs of the Center for the Performing Arts.
This year's Songbook Hall of Fame inductees are the tops in mid-century style and glamour: the late Ella Fitzgerald, America's "First Lady of Song”; the late Ray Gilbert, lyricist behind Disney's "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” and popularizer of Brazilian music; and Mitzi Gaynor, the actress, singer, dancer and all-around entertainer whose stellar career has included film roles in South Pacific and There's No Business Like Show Business.
5 p.m.: Gas up and prepare for boarding at the First Merchants Bank Cocktail Reception
6 p.m.: Dig this in-flight meal: an elegant dinner and swinging live auction in the Palladium
8:30 p.m.: Hit cruising speed with Michael Feinstein at the Songbook Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, followed by an exciting performance from this year's special guest artist.
10 p.m.-1 a.m.: Come in for a landing at the Katz, Sapper & Miller After-Parties, featuring drinks, desserts and dancing in the glitzy surroundings of New York, Miami and Las Vegas.
