National Moto+Cycle Co. is namely based from the National Motor & Vehicle Company in Indianapolis [1900-1924]. National was an elite group of engineers, draftsman, and racers. The National Motor and Vehicle Co. was incorporated in February1900 and soon became an industry leader producing the first US six cylinder engine. National produced electric vehicles initially, moving to full combustion production in 1905 and won the second Indianapolis 500 in 1912 proving their innovations through countless racing crowns and world records. The National Factory [Re-established in 2008 as the National Design Factory] located at 22nd St. and the Monon RR in Indianapolis.
