In the late 1800?s, people seeking freedom and freedom from persecution, sought and found their dream in the area of Indiana Avenue, Indianapolis. Skilled immigrants were able to put their talents to work and achieve a place to pursue happiness. Today the Indiana Avenue Redevelopment Project seeks to revitalize this area full of history and African American culture. Entrepreneurial and public art projects are encouraged.
